Mrs. Dworkin's Faves
Mrs. Dworkin's Faves
Charlotte’s Web:
I love Charlotte's Web because it is one of the first books I remember reading on my own, and I loved that the animals could talk and acted as if they were human. I could picture myself being at that farm with those animals.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory:
I love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because I can remember my 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Lindsay, reading it out loud to us everyday. I could not wait to see what happened to Charlie Bucket and the rest of the kids as they toured the chocolate factory. I also wished I could be in that factory eating and tasting all that chocolate and candy!
Pippi Longstocking:
I loved Pippi Longstocking because I thought it was amazing that a girl my age was living on her own with a horse and her father was a pirate! I loved reading about the adventures Pippi, Annika, and Tommy had everyday.
Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing: I love Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing because it introduced me to my favorite author, Judy Blume. After reading this book, I couldn’t get my hands on her other books fast enough. I spent summers as a kid lying on the beach reading my brand new Judy Blume books!

Tuck Everlasting:
I love this book because it's a beautiful story set in the 1800s. It has cliffhangers galore that keep us on the edge of our seats! There is a lot of wonderful figurative language and believe it or not, a ton of action!
Little House on the Prairie: This is a nostalgia pick! As a young reader, I was so intrigued by life long ago, and this story taught me what it was like to be a pioneer. I fell in love with the Ingalls family as I read. I read every book in this series multiple times and watched every episode of the TV series!
Ellen Tebbits: I read every Beverly Cleary book there was! I particularly loved this one because it has has a strong theme of friendship and belonging. I totally identified with Ellen wanting a best friend and wanting to fit in. I also taught me about conflict in friendships and how important it is to resolve them.
Little Women: One of the characters shares my first name - Beth - so I was immediately captivated! I had two sisters, so I could understand the relationships between the four main characters. It was the longest book I had ever read and the first book that made me cry because I loved the characters so much.
